FINALLY i get the whole house to myself. i'm not complaining. this apartment is a tad bit too big sometimes... especially on days i'm feeling empty and alone...but you know, the elderly oops i mean mothers can get on your nerves.

i decided to jog home from the pool today and left ryan ng walking by himself from the pool to my place. i, of cause, thought he'd know which route i'm taking but as it turns out, he didn't.

so while i spent minutes waiting for him to show up, he spent minutes scouting the path next to the canal. to make things even worse i didn't have my handphone with me. and then i started to panic and i searched high and low, looking far and wide, hoping that by chance, i'd see my boy strolling up to me. but NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

i broke into tears like a little toddler whose ice cream cone dropped onto the floor as soon as i saw him. BOO HOOOOO.

went to upper thompson then to clementi to collect my lenses then to sim to accompany flaine then to bukit timah to walk around and to kap mac for fries with lots of mayo (ooo fat!) and then a walk around the new lake point park :D it's finally open so yay!


talking about my contact lenses, i'd like to recommend all of you to this optical shop in clementi. it's a neighbourhood shop which looks sub-standard but the shop's exterior really doesn't do justice to her (Pauline lim. certified so don't worry) superb service. lenses and specs are CHEAP and she's very helpful as well. highly recommended by me!!!

valentine's day was a simple affair of steamboat together with ryan and shihan. i over-estimated our appetite and bought 8 persons share of food, leaving us with very bloated tummies.
i must add that i was pleasantly surprised seeing a post left for me on my own blog. :D through all the years we've known each other, there wasn't a time he took time to pen down his thoughts unless i bitched and made a fuss out of it. so you can imagine the smile on my face; the upward tilting corners of my lips when i saw the unexpected message left for me. :D
the day started off with a very romanteeek 5k jog with shihan at midnight. there we were, taking in the fresh air and cool breeze against our faces, in the stillness of the night. just the two of us. it was so quiet i could only hear her breathing and mine.. and for a couple of split seconds here and there, i thought i could hear her heart thumping. SO romantic la. PLUS with the full moon and countless number of stars overhead... haiya it's the most salah thing. so appropriate if it were ryan so unappropriate cause it's shihan. but all the same, i love you bitch. HEE HEE.

today we had the pool all to ourselves. it set me grinning straightaway. puts a tingle of euphoria to know that nobody will be blocking your path, no other water currents disrupting your strokes, nobody swimming the breaths and cutting your laps and yes no kids kicking and splashing and being a nuisance.
:D please make it rain more if it leaves me with empty pools! i don't mind the cold freezing wind.

birthday's coming but my mum hasn't gone back to work. no dog for me. what a spoiler. i anticipated the existence of Ruffles for more than a year. ):

there's something about waking up early in the morning that makes me insanely happy and bright. my feet feel lighter, and there's a happy air all around. even the traffic lights turn green at the right moment.
of cause i could attain such thrill by setting my alarm at 6 in the morning, just to wake up to hit on the snooze button for a thrillion times, and eventually turn the alarm off and fall right back to sleep, and feel blatantly overjoyed to be able to.

i like watching people doing silly things for other people. haha because it's funny. especially during the festive season and end of the year, most people start becoming queer. and they begin to lose the self restraint they've been having during the rest of the year. they say they're broke more than half the time and suddenly they have enough to spend to tell you there's a burnt hole in their pocket. (no mo, with no ref to u) and then you start to see people doing blatantly sweet things for others which make spectators feel all warm and fuzzy inside. and you feel so all-seeing and all-knowing because you know what is happening even before they do. mauhahahaha.. despite all the comicality, i am but one of them.

once again i was thinking about how nice it would be to have someone to just sit with you and keep you company, a person that you're with not because he's the wittiest person you know or something that you have the most fun with or that he's the best listener you can find. too many expectations are tied with these titles and each and every time he falls below standard, you feel disappointed at his failture to live up to what you believe him to be. moreover, all these qualities are replaceable, the moment you find someone else who's funnier, or livelier, or conversely quieter or more realistic. maybe a special someone is a person that you find the most natural to be with, not because he has any particular traits or characteristics, but because being with him is the way it has always been. when there is no need for spoken words as they are but talismans to ward off the silence. when you are comforted just by that person's presence and the recognition of the fact that you are not alone.


and then a sudden revelation hit me. maybe i should stop judging and expecting and under-rating.
